This notice explains what happens to personal data in connection with this website, zerodaone.com. It is written to meet the requirements of the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 (NDPA).
Last updated: 6 August 2026.
Who is responsible
What this notice covers
This notice covers this website only. Our products are separate services with their own privacy notices, because they process different data for different purposes:
- MyProperties — see the privacy notice published at myproperties.ng.
- Zaure — a notice will be published with the app before release.
What this website collects
Very little, by design. This site is a set of static pages. Specifically:
- No cookies. This site sets none.
- No analytics or tracking. There is no analytics service, no tag manager, no advertising pixel, and no third‑party script of any kind on these pages.
- No forms. There is nothing here to submit. Contact is by email, which you send from your own mail client.
- No account. There is nothing to sign in to.
Server logs
This site is hosted on GitHub Pages, a service of GitHub, Inc. Like any web host, GitHub records technical request data — including your IP address, the page requested, the time, and your browser’s user‑agent string — for the purposes of delivering the site, security, and abuse prevention. That processing is carried out by GitHub as our hosting provider under its own terms and privacy practices. We do not receive, store or analyse these logs, and we do not use them to identify visitors.
Lawful basis: our legitimate interest in operating a secure and available website (NDPA section 25(1)(f)).
Email you send us
If you write to any address on this site, we receive your email address, your name if you give it, and whatever you choose to put in the message. We use it to answer you and to keep a record of the correspondence. Our corporate email is provided by Namecheap (PrivateEmail) as our mail processor.
Lawful basis: our legitimate interest in responding to enquiries, and where you are asking us to do something, taking steps at your request (NDPA sections 25(1)(b) and 25(1)(f)).
Retention: business correspondence is kept for up to 24 months from the last message in the thread, unless a longer period is needed for a legal or accounting obligation. Job applications sent to careers@zerodaone.com are kept for 12 months so we can come back to you if a suitable role opens, and deleted after that unless you ask us to keep them.
Transfers outside Nigeria
We think you should be told this plainly rather than have to work it out. Two of the services behind this website operate outside Nigeria:
| Processor | Purpose | Location |
|---|---|---|
| GitHub, Inc. | Website hosting and delivery | United States |
| Namecheap, Inc. (PrivateEmail) | Corporate email | United States |
These transfers are limited to technical request data and email correspondence. We rely on the transfer being necessary for our legitimate interests in operating the website and communicating with the people who contact us, and on our contractual arrangements with each provider, in accordance with Part VIII of the NDPA. We do not transfer special‑category personal data through this website, because we do not collect any.
Who we share data with
Nobody, beyond the two processors named above. We do not sell personal data, we do not share it with advertisers or data brokers, and we do not use it to build profiles. We will disclose data where we are legally required to — a valid court order or a lawful request from a competent authority — and we will tell you if we are permitted to.
Your rights
Under the NDPA you have the right to ask us for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, to have inaccurate data corrected, to have data erased, to restrict or object to our processing of it, to receive it in a portable form, and to withdraw consent where consent is what we relied on.
To exercise any of these, write to privacy@zerodaone.com. We will respond within 30 days. We do not charge for this. We may ask you to confirm your identity before acting on a request, so that we are not handing your data to somebody else.
Complaints
If you think we have handled your personal data improperly, tell us first — we would rather fix it. You also have the right to complain to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission (NDPC), which regulates data protection in Nigeria, whether or not you have raised it with us.
Children
This website is not directed at children and collects nothing from anyone, including children.
Changes to this notice
If we change what this website does — adding analytics, for example — we will update this notice before the change goes live, and change the date at the top. We will not quietly start collecting something this notice says we do not collect.
